PROCEDURE
  • SV Sugar 80 is applied to the rolls during maintenance periods when the mill is free from sugarcane.

It may happen either during running or during stationary conditions.

  • During surfacing the rotational speed of crusher rolls can range between 2 to 5 RPM. The ideal being 3 RPM.
  • The greater the rotational speed the smaller the amount of weld-deposit will adhere to the roll.
  • During surfacing, in dry-condition closer control of coverage can be obtained with globules.
  • The electrode is normally kept inclined at about 300 below the horizon and in the direction of roll movement.
  • The rolls do not require cleaning before / after welding.
